Born to be a researcher, I love following my curiosity and untangling tricky problems. As a result, I have gravitated toward technology users in sophisticated areas such as science, healthcare, and law.
This appetite for learning has helped me develop a tool kit that can surface meaningful, actionable insights in any industry. Difficult questions, tough deadlines, and “impossible” tasks are the spice of (research) life.
Recent Work
- Simplifying Research for Complex Industries — As both recruiter and researcher, I delight in helping our largest B2B client source and learn from historically hard-to-find users, including highly specialized chemists and patent professionals. Kristy and I partner with teams from across our client’s platform to continuously improve their core product while also driving rapid, evidence-based innovation. I find joy in using research expertise to help leaders make swift, confident design decisions within ultra-technical fields.
- Quick-Service Usability Testing — I was thrilled to collaboratively design, moderate, and analyze usability testing for the world’s most famous (and my personal favorite) fast-casual restaurant. This project came with many unique challenges, including an unusually tight turnaround time and the need to keep a new concept top secret ahead of its global unveiling. I worked strategically with fellow researchers, Jihee and Nora, to deliver a comprehensive summary of critical user insights and design recommendations on an accelerated schedule, ensuring a timely and successful launch for this high-profile client.
Past Experience
- Prior to Marketade, I launched the research function at Convincely, an early-stage conversion rate optimization (CRO) startup in Melbourne, Australia. As the team’s sole researcher, I drove key research planning, international user recruitment, participant pool management, and study execution during foundational research. I also led data analysis, insight development, and presentation of recommendations to our design and leadership teams to inform and validate our MVP build.
- While in Melbourne, I also worked as a member of the Content and Engagement team at Trout Creative Thinking, Reece Group’s creative agency. During this time, I conducted a competitive analysis of consumer behavior engagement (CBE) in the Australian trade supply industry’s holistic digital environment (HDE). I concluded this project by authoring a key recommendations report aimed at improving online engagement from tradespeople, Reece’s primary user group.
- I am proud to have begun my career in education, first as a teacher in New York City and later leading out-of-school time research and design for the Austin Independent School District’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant. In collaboration with the district’s Department of Research and Evaluation, I led data capture, analysis, and solution design to continuously improve the learning experience for over 5,000 students across 20 schools.
Education
- Master of Marketing Communications, University of Melbourne
- Bachelor of Social Work (Concentration: Sociology), University of Texas at Austin
- New York City Teaching Fellows Postgraduate Program
Outside the Office
- When I’m not researching, I love coffee, yoga, and aerial fitness.
